OUR HISTORY

At 4vita, our love for aromatic plants, spices and herbs is deeply ingrained in our roots and is the legacy that we have been preserving for years in our family.
On the lush green, sun-bathed slopes of southern Crete, in our privately-owned crops, 4fita was born to share the pure fruits that are produced with respect for our land.

1948 1977 2020

Our history begins quite back in time, when in 1948 the young Vangelis Verykokidis in the picturesque village of Badia in the Cretan hinterland, decides to follow his passion, the search and collection of aromatic plants and herbs, which he then sold in his tiny shop. Dedicated to the exploration of beneficial properties and seductive flavours, he was introduced to this art by his father,

a spice and herb trader who had lived for years in the heart of Asia Minor. When in 1977 he is succeeded by his son, Georgios, with even greater passion and through ceaseless efforts of years he manages to create his own farm of 20,000 square meters, making his life dream come true.

Today, three generations later, on the same land, the family continues to tell its story. The voice of this heritage is Vangelis Verykokidis, carrying the name and the zeal of his grandfather. Wanting to share the intoxicating aromas and the secrets of longevity that he discovered growing up in nature, he created 4vita. With great zeal, he increased his land to a total of 100,000 privately owned square meters, on which 12 species of plants and herbs are cultivated today, blooming uniquely in the hospitable microclimate of our island.

With values of respect for the land and the preservation of natural resources, the whole team of 4vita carefully studies every step of the production process, faithfully adhering to the standards of organic agriculture and applying only gentle cultivation practices in the family fields.
